Where do you go to eat in Priest River?
What’s your favorite spot in and around Priest River for breakfast, lunch, or dinner?
And for those who haven’t been in town lately, what’s available?
A.J.’s and the Mangy Moose are both open for breakfast and lunch, and I believe, close by about 2 p.m.
The Village Kitchen is open from morning until night – serving all 3 meals, and you can also buy a brew to go with your food. For something a little different, you can choose the Del Rio Grill.
You can grab a burger and other fast food at the Burger Express, Angie’s Drive-in, or Mama Mac’s – or at the deli in Mitchell’s Harvest Foods. I think the Corner Gas still has a deli case, too.
For a steak dinner, you can choose the Feed Mill, the Ranch Club, or the Hardwood Grill. You can buy a beer at all 3, and hard drinks for sure at the Ranch Club – I don’t know about the Feed Mill or the Hardwood Grill, so someone can write and fill us in (please.)
Oh, and if you’re on your way to Priest Lake, you can stop at the Falls Inn Tavern for a pizza or a sandwich.
Did I miss any? If you’ve been away, you’re thinking I missed River Pigs – but it’s been closed for a while now. I heard the building has been sold, but that’s mere gossip – not something I know for sure.
If I missed any others, let me know!
One question I’ve had forever. Since this town was originally populated by the Scandinavians and the Italians, why are there no Italian Restaurants in Priest River? (I’ve never heard of a Scandinavian restaurant – perhaps because most of us really don’t like to cook?) But I for one would love to go out for some good Italian food – maybe cooked with recipes handed down from our early settlers.
Now it’s your turn. Write and tell us which is your favorite – and why. I’m going to leave my own preferences out of this – so as not to influence your reply.

I love AJ’s and Mangy Moose for breakfast. For a quick and inexpensive chef salad, Mac’s is the best. Great homemade croutons! I really enjoy the “bath tub” salad bar at the Feed Mill and the Ranch Club is the best pizza around. Priest River Inn, formerly River Pigs Inn, just reopened on Monday and is Italian food. People were raving about it last night at city council. The best cheeseburger around is hand downs Kelly’s Hoodoo Cafe in Vay.

For a quick and inexpensive meal we find ourselves going to Mac’s. Our favorite for Pizza is the Ranch Club. When family comes to town we usually end up at the Mangy Moose.

Thanks Terri, for letting us know about the new restaurant. I just said I wished we had an Italian restaurant – and there it is! I can hardly wait to give it a try.

breakfast is has to be AJs, or Mangy Moose. I love just about everything at the ranch Club ! Except their napkins ! I really enjoy Del Rio, they are quick and very good ! I’ve always had good food at the Feed Mill, but haven’t been there in awhile.

A.J’s for breakfast gets my vote! The waitresses are friendly, and the food is both plentiful and good.
